This is a special endeavor to create and develop the national dog breed of the Philippines using the native dog landrace population from which to select the gene pool, was started in August 2011 and launched December 3, 2011. In 2012, the Philippine Aso formal registry was opened to gather a parent (P) gene pool, and the breed standard drafted.
