The Manalo K9 kennels were designed by Mr. Buck Dikes of VCSi to meet American military standards.  The photo above shows from left to right, Dr. Abel Manalo (Manalo K9 President), Mr. Dikes, and Mr. Shaun Hoover (Director for Business Intelligence, VCSi) during their recent visit to pickup a batch of Superdog Soap to bring to the US and Afghanistan.  A portion of the kennels is visible at the background.

The Manalo K9 Training Field is over a hectare in size, and is used in various training exercises.  The above photo shows K9 CHOPE with his handler, K9 Team Leader Ricardo Olaguer, performing an explosive detection demo on the open grounds, with our International Agent, Mr. Maurice Ghazi of Canada, taking photos.

The hilly terrain and the tall grass and trees around the training center is ideal for some of our training exercises such as hostile searches and teaching patrol dogs to engage decoys through different natural obstacles such as is shown in the photo above.  There are rocky cliffs, busy commercial places, heavily populated residential areas, and also streams of water nearby where dogs are brought for training.

The facilities are routinely checked by administrative officers during specified times daily using the Manalo K9's RKI (Routine Kennel Inspection) system to ensure everything is in order and that all the dogs are in their proper places, well fed and taken-cared of, and in excellent overall condition.

The following photos were taken during the joint Philippine National Police, Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA)-K9 Division (Headed by Col. Red Felix), and Philippine K9 Federation's (Represented by Mr. Chito Dantes) general inspection of the Manalo K9 facilities early 2011.

Photos above and below shows Dr. Angel Mateo (Officer in Charge, Animal Welfare Division, Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI)) and International TV Journalist/Reporter Mr. Jay Taruc, during the 2010 BAI annual inspection of Manalo K9's facilities.  Part of a TV documentary on animal welfare was also filmed, where Manalo K9 was shown as a model facility.

Maintaining the facilities clean and green is a big job.  Once a week is a general cleaning day, and everyone helps out in keeping the compound well-groomed.  Photos below were taken on general cleaning days, a big opportunity to bond with each member of the Team, as well as update each other on what's happening while working together under the sun.
